I have wanted to tackle a 365 Project (366 in this case as it's a leap year) since my days at Ontario College of Art in the early 90's. But I knew myself well, and was certain it would end up incomplete like so many other projects in the past. I'm one of those people who always has more than a few projects on the go, and find myself jumping around between them like a madman afflicted with ADD. When I heard a small group of geocaching friends were going to attempt their own 365 Project, I decided that I would join in the fun, and that it might provide me the extra incentive to complete it. And besides, it will make an awesome photo album to look back on a single year in my life, day-by-day. And since painting has for my entire life, been my main focus creatively, the fact that this will be my first real photographic project with any sort of focus, is exciting, and should be a great learning experience.

Day 248: Today was another rainy day at work, but the job HAD to be finished. Half my day was spent drying out in the truck, and waiting for the rain to settle down to a light rain or completely stop. I could think of a several other places I would rather been at to watch the two bands of storms that rolled through the city today…

Day 240: Ok, so this isn’t the greatest photo, but it is the reason I got to quit work early today. After several hours working in the downpour, I finally had enough, and packed it up. Of course, by the time I got home, it had stopped. This is the rain on green aluminum flatstock, which I was using to cap windows on the customer’s house.

Day 225: We spent the afternoon paddling on Wolf and Crab Lake today. One of the two caches we came looking for was atop Blueberry Hill at the south end of Crab Lake, where this photo was shot. Though not obvious in this photo, just like the entire weekend, the skies opened up for a quick torrential downpour.

Day 159: After a longer than usual day at work, I begin heading home, and yet again today, the rain comes down. By the time I got home, it was coming down heavy, so a couple quick shots from the steps of my front door consist of today’s shot.

Day 158: I had just finished work, when the sky opened up and I was in a torrential downpour. That didn’t last long, and I soon found myself checking out the dramatic sky as the storms moved east. Looking for a spot to get as much sky in my shot as possible, was not an easy task, considering my location. The location here is the abandoned Westwood Theatre in Etobicoke, the same spot I was for Day 93.

Day 153: Got todays photo nice and early, as I left home to go to work. By the time I had managed to get the keys in the truck door, I knew the day was a write-off due to rain, at least for work. A little wandering around in the rain around my house and I found my subject, out for a stroll, enjoying the weather….

Day 114: A rainy day today reduced options for a shot, but during a small break in the rain on the way home, I stopped for a quick cache downtown at Chatsworth Park. Spent some time shooting raindrops, etc. on plants and leaves…..

Day 90: It looked like the forecast snow wasn’t going to happen, so I headed down to the Distillery District tonight, and wouldn’t you know it, as soon as I got there, it started to snow and rain. Getting a decent picture proved difficult, with raindrops and snow landing on my lens, but I managed to get a shot in one of the slighlty more sheltered areas. The sculpture here is “Passerelle et Portelance” by Claude Millette.
